AdSparx announces the availability of video ad platform that will enable dynamic ad insertion in MPEG-DASH and Microsoft Smooth Streaming protocol using the same workflow settings and business rules that were used for HLS. This promises the same TV-like seamless experience of user targeted ads in online video to all the three protocols.
The HLS, MPEG-DASH and Smooth support also comes with built-in support for the DRM standards Fairplay, Widevine and PlayReady respectively. These capabilities will make AdSparx monetize even DRM protected streams across all protocols. In case of MPEG-DASH, any player can play the ad-inserted streams. No need on the player side to support any advanced features like multi-period support.
Ad-insertion rules like targeting, campaign goals configuration for streams remain same across the three protocols. Creatives are auto-packaged into DASH and SMOOTH compatible formats during delivery such that they match smoothly with the content & its streaming protocol. AdSparx supports both pre-rolls and mid-rolls in live streams and on-demand content for all three protocols.
